Case Study: Implant Exchange to the Breasts
Age: 45
Chief Complaint
45-year-old female with silicone implants for 10+ years.
Main Issues
Progressive pain and discomfort in left breast with implant displacement, significant muscle animation deformity and contour irregularities.
Procedure
- Removal of old 320 cc implants that were Textured Silicone, left side was ruptured.
- Implant Exchange
Dr. Polynice performed complex pocket adjustments with capsulectomies, which is the removal of thickened areas of capsules. Capsullorhaphies (reconstruction of capsule), corrected muscle animation deformity by releasing areas of tightened muscle fibers. Replaced with new SSM (Smooth Soft Touch Moderate Profile) silicone implants 275 CC.
Dr. Polynice also performed a fat transfer to both breasts to correct contour deformities. Lastly, a bilateral smile lift with tightening of the skin envelope at the inframammary fold was also performed.
